About Scitax

Scitax is a team of engineering professionals – including former CRA science advisors – who have been helping businesses make successful SR&ED claims for over 20 years.

The firm was founded in 2006 by David Hearn and Michael Cadesky.

Michael Cadesky FCPA FCA is a preeminent expert in Canadian taxation. In addition to his accountancy qualifications he holds an MBA and a BSc.

David Hearn is a Certified Engineering Technologist. Prior to co-founding Scitax, David was a member of the tax credit practice of an international public accounting firm where he gained broad knowledge of corporate taxation issues and developed an extensive network of contacts within the Canada Revenue Agency. Prior to entering the field of SR&ED consulting in 1993, David held engineering and R&D positions in the electronics industry.

In addition to crafting highly effective SR&ED submissions, David’s expertise extends to negotiating settlements with CRA, preparing notice of objection appeals and assisting legal counsel in Tax Court of Canada actions.
